We are seeking an Assistant psychologist to work alongside our Trauma Informed Care Lead across Learning Disability services in Teesside. 

You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team,  primarily within with Intensive Support Team, where you will predominately be supporting the Service Development Lead for trauma informed care to support in embedding the use of trauma informed approaches, raising knowledge and understanding of how trauma impacts on an individual across DTV.

The team is in the early planning stages and the successful candidate will be integral to the development of the service specification and standard works.  The team will work across the Durham and Tees Valley (DTV) footprint and will work closely with already established community teams within each locality.

The team will have three distinctive pathways:

·        Provider Support pathway – Mon- Fri 9-5. Support ALD providers who are struggling and support them to be a commissioned service.

·        Home Support pathway – 7 days 8am – 8pm. To support in keeping people at home and providing rapid and intensive support.

·        Wraparound support pathway – 7 days 8am – 8pm. Involves the delivery of direct care to patients and/or their care support with continuous intensive interventions.

There will be a level of flexibility required depending on service/patient need.

Assisting in gathering baseline (pre and post) assessments indicating the level of trauma informed thinking across community and partner agencies and services, as well as manage and develop databases for reporting purposes

Assisting in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding to benefit all service users of adult learning disability teams, across all settings where care takes place

Being involved in case discussions and decisions regarding support needs

Assisting the co-ordination and running of support provided to external providers with good record keeping and data collection at all times

Developing and maintaining strong and supportive relationships with community, inpatient and external service providers

Collaboration with local partners to develop trauma informed thinking to improve the safety and quality of local resources working with individuals who have trauma experiences

Supporting with the write up of team case formulations

You will support qualified colleagues to organise and deliver reflective practice spaces and be involved in the co-facilitation of trauma informed specific training.  There will be opportunities to co-produce and further develop future training packages/workshops

You will receive weekly clinical supervision from the Service Development Lead for TiC (Principal Applied Psychologist)
