An exciting opportunity has arisen within Mental Health Services for Older People based within the Bishop Auckland and Dales Community Mental Health Team at Auckland Park Hospital for Clinical Team Secretary/Administrator - 30 hours 

The team supports multidisciplinary services providing care for patients living in their own homes or in a care home. The administration team support the clinical staff with all aspects of administration including sending of letters, updating computer systems, liaising with patients re appointments, taking messages and all other administrative tasks associated with the team.

The successful candidate will be working with the Mental Health Teams within services across County Durham. We are looking to employ a hardworking, conscientious individual who is able to present themselves in a professional manner. The successful candidate would be required to perform administrative duties, have an understanding of Information systems and be able to contribute to ongoing service development.

The successful applicant will ideally have an awareness of mental health issues and will be able to demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work. They will have an eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy. They will be able to effectively and clearly communicate with colleagues, service users and their families, along with external agencies in order to support liaison services.

  • Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent (or willingness to achieve in timescale)
  • ITQ Level 2 or equivalent or willingness to work towards
  • Key skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 or O Level / GCSE in Maths and English grade C or above

Experience

  • Secretarial/admin experience in a clinical environment
