Trosolwg o'r swydd

The Audiology Service provides NHS hearing aid services throughout Dorset.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills to join our friendly team, to work as an Audiology Technical Support Officer/Distractor predominantly in our Weymouth site but the post may also involve work at our outstations in West Dorset, working alongside audiologists.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who wishes to gain sound experience in a very busy and friendly department. As well as our adult service we also provide services for paediatrics, balance, tinnitus, adults with learning difficulties and ENT.

The post holder will contribute to this by working on first line hearing aid repairs as their main role. Full training will be given where necessary. The role will be very varied to also encompass at times as acting as the ‘distractor’ in the paediatric service, administration, and various other job-related tasks.

Applicants must be able to communicate with adults, children and their family/carers and also be able to communicate clearly and sympathetically with hearing impaired people.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, well-motivated and flexible. Good communication skills are essential, along with excellent organisational and IT skills and the ability to manage a busy workload and be able to work calmly under pressure to provide excellent patient care.

A car driver with a full current driving license is essential.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.  Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
