Obstetric Theatre Care Assistant: 37.5 hours/week
University Hospitals Dorset is looking to recruit a motivated person, to join our expanding Theatre Department delivering a 24 hour service as a Theatre Care Assistant .
We offer great opportunities with an extensive educational program, to include the development of our Theatre Care Assistants including level 3 apprenticeships in Perioperative care and Operative Department Apprenticeships.

We offer a range of specialities across both sites where you will become a valued member our team. Full training will be given and your peers, senior staff and the rest of the multidisciplinary team will support you to learn new skills and to expand your practice
Main duties of the job
Please be aware that this role is a support workers role and not a healthcare assistant role. It has limited patient contact and limited direct patient care Responsibilities will involve support the theatre team within the circulating role in the theatre environment.
There is the opportunity to offer a Band 2 development role with the opportunity to progress to Band 3 within 12 months if specific criteria achieved and supported by line manager.

There is a planned move for this service during April 2025 when this role and base of work will relocate to Bournemouth site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
