Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Temporary Staffing team.
In this role you will support the smooth running of the Temporary Staffing service, communicating with wards,  external agencies and
various departments. You will oversee the workflow of coordinators and provide day to day support.


To excel in this post you need:
• GCSE English & Maths (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
• Experience of effective communication in a business setting to a diverse range of service users including senior managers and
members of the public.
• The ability to work on initiative and judgement to make informed decisions and to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
• Able to develop good working relationships with a range of internal departments, external contacts and Bank / Worklife Balance team.

Experience in a temporary staffing environment is a benefit but is not an essential requirement.

Main duties of the job

The post holder would manage the workflow of a team of coordinators and oversee the allocation of the temporary workforce. The post holder would work effectively with colleagues and challenge external suppliers to deliver consistently safe and cost effective staffing. The role acts as a lead point of contact for all routine enquiries and requests for the temporary workforce.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ 3 in Business Administration or equivalent level of knowledge.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of working within a temporary staffing department or similar. Recent experience of managing a high volume of temporary staffing requests or similar
  • Awareness and knowledge of temporary staffing issues.
  • Clear understanding of the financial implications of temporary worker use.
  • Experience of recruiting and selecting staff through shortlisting into induction.
  • Experience of effective communication in a business setting to a diverse range of service users including senior managers and members of the public.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using Allocate Health roster and Bank Staff systems or similar.
  • Expert understanding of NHS framework standards and agency compliance.
  • Understanding of Working Time Regulations.
  • Awareness of NHSi regulations.
  • Line Management experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on initiative and judgement to make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence others to achieve positive outcomes.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail coupled with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Evidence of effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Evidence of ability to develop systems to promote effective team working.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, emails etc.
  • Ability to analyse, extract and communicate data effectively.
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of confidentiality, information governance, Caldicott Principles and The Data Protection Act.
  • Able to develop good working relationships with a range of internal departments, external contacts and Bank / Worklife Balance team members.
