Radiology currently has 2 CT and 2 MRI scanners, highly skilled Ultrasound, Interventional and Fluoroscopy departments along with X-ray and Mammography. We are expanding with a CT scanner in the Weymouth site, and in addition X-Ray and Ultrasound facilities in the South Walks Site. The New Emergency Department, due in 2025, will have X-Ray and CT services included.
Dorset County Hospital is in the county town of Dorchester which has good rail links to Southampton, Bristol and London and boasts highly rated schools. Dorset is a delightful place to live and work with the choice of coast or country for leisure activities. Dorchester has undergone a major refurbishment with lots of bars and restaurants providing evening entertainment. The seaside town of Weymouth is nearby with lots of water sports opportunities.
Based across multiple sites we have worked hard to ensure we offer an accessible and quality service for our patients. This is reflected in our achievement to gain our QSI (Quality Standard for Imaging) accreditation, the state-of-the-art equipment we use for imaging and expansion of Community Diagnostic Centres.
