Job overview
An exciting Job opportunity has arisen within the phlebotomy team serving Outpatient and the wards across the Bournemouth and Christchurch sites.
This post is for someone who has experience in phlebotomy and is dynamic, has good communication skills and IT skills. This job involves attention to detail and accuracy when preforming venepuncture on patients both inpatient and outpatient. The role does require some periods of long standing and walking distances.
This post needs flexibility of working shifts as we provide a service that runs Monday to Sunday and includes bank holidays. Week days are predominately 07:30-16:30 and weekends are 07:00 - 12:00.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To perform venepuncture on adults in a friendly, efficient and professional manner, in the in patient and out patient setting.
- Provide training, support and leadership to phlebotomists in a professional manner, acting as a role model under the guidance of the senior lead phlebotomist.
- Prioritise workload effectively so as to provide a continuous service. across the Trust.

Essential criteria
- Good general education
- Must be numerate and literate with a good command of spoken and written English
Desirable criteria
- College or university qualifications
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous phlebotomy experience within a patient setting
- Evidence of good communication skills
Desirable criteria
- 1 year’s phlebotomy experience
- Completed a venepuncture course
