To facilitate the delivery of high quality clinical education, within their scope of knowledge and clinical practice, specifically with leading the development and delivery of ECA courses, non-clinical education such as manual handling, prevention and management of violence and aggression (PMVA). Develop and deliver educational packages for support staff throughout the Trust, for example and not exclusive too, the foundation and mandatory training packages for Make Ready Operative (MRO) and Ambulance Vehicle Preparation (AVP) teams.
In collaboration with the Learning and Development Officers (LDO’s) ensure smooth day to day running of the education venues
Provide proactive and dynamic leadership, acting as a representative of the education department supporting the compliance of Trust and departmental goals and objectives.
Within own clinical scope of practice, provide support to Trust operational clinical performance at times of unusually high operation pressure, and in accordance with the Trust’s REAP escalation plans.

The focus of the LDP will be on delivering high quality classroom and work-based learning and assessment as appropriate, considering previous learning and recognising learner progress so as to manage accordingly and to meet individual learning needs.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other Trust departments to actively identifying potential service improvements and policy changes, evaluating changes made and making further recommendations where necessary. Participate as required by line management in collaborative work with SWAST colleagues to achieve Trust strategic aims.
Work closely with managers, Heads of department, Operational Teams to achieve Trust aims, in particular provide objective advice and guidance on issues such as training remediation, assessments, preceptorship and return to work
Monitor staff performance in all aspects of their work to include, assessment, and identification of training needs and provision of support as necessary. This includes the referral of staff for retraining and / or development where it cannot reasonably be achieved in normal working hours or in the workplace.

Education and qualifications
Meini prawf hanfodol
- Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching (AET)
- Literate and numerate.
- Experience in ambulance prehospital health care delivery
- Portfolio evidence of recent CPPD
- Able to meet the requirements of the Knowledge and Skills Framework for the role

- Cert Ed or PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- IOSH Moving and Handling Qualification
Previous experience (Paid/ Unpaid relevant to job)
