Job overview
To manage, co-ordinate and participate in the change and training elements of projects within the Community IT Projects Team, helping to enable their successful implementation
To lead a team of IT Change and Training personnel managing their day to day workloads and staffing matters
To assist the relevant project managers to ensure benefits defined in the projects’ Business Cases are fully realised
Main duties of the job
Manage a number of concurrent change and training work packages for a number of different projects
Manage project change activities ensuring detailed change documentation is created and recommendations on change requirements and processes are discussed, agreed and implemented
Manage the preparation of different mediums of training material and the provision of training sessions
Identify, document and put processes in place to ensure that project benefits are realised and, post project implementation, provide reports comparing anticipated benefits with actual benefits realised
Manage a team of IT Change and Training personnel including any related HR matters
Co-ordinate and participate in the provision of post go live support activities

Produce plans, process maps and other relevant project related documentation as requested by the Project Manager and detailed in the work package
Produce a benefit realisation plan for presentation to the relevant Project
Manager
Undertake and document post implementation reviews of completed work
packages to ensure that process improvement can benefit from the experiences of previous work package delivery

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification, or equivalent work gained experience
- Management qualification or work gained experience
- Benefits Realisation qualification or equivalent work gained experience
- Change Management qualification or equivalent work gained experience
Desirable criteria
- Prince 2 Project Foundation level or working towards
- ILM Diploma
- Lean Practitioner
- TAP Certified
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Computer literate e.g. proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications etc. with the ability to master new software applications
- Experience and understanding of identifying, tracking and ensuring potential benefits are realised
- Experience of effectively leading and managing a team to achieve desired outcomes
- Effective negotiator with the ability to influence others; a person who is known to embrace new systems and lead adoption of change
- Ability to develop new ways of working
- Experience of service change management
Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS experience
- Understanding and experience of current IT solutions and associated processes within the South Devon Health Community
- Experience of SystmOne

- Current driver with valid driving licence in order to travel to sites locally and nationally to fulfil the needs of projects and of the department

- Ability to work flexibly, outside of normal working hours as required

- Familiar with the use of projectors, and running PowerPoint presentations

Essential criteria
- Frequent requirement for sitting / inputting at keyboard for substantial amount of time during the working day
- Requirement to travel to other locations for meetings, to deliver training and provide support for users

- Being patient, diplomatic and adaptable
