Rotational Clinical Pharmacist PROPEL Programme (B6 to B7 Progression)

As part of the PROPEL Programme (Plymouth Rotational Opportunity for Progression through Experience & Learning):

• To participate in defined and structured Band 6 core or Band 7 specialised rotations across a variety of settings within pharmacy and clinical specialities. With learning outcomes and training and education opportunities linked to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Frameworks.

• To undertake in fully funded further study appropriate to the role e.g. Diploma/Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy Practice and Non-Medical Prescribing.

• To participate in the delivery of a high-quality clinical pharmacy service ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medicines for patients attending and admitted to University Hospitals Plymouth.

• To participate in ward based clinical pharmacy services to support the safe prescribing and administrations of medicines. This may include activities drug history taking and medicines reconciliation, medicine supply, patient medication consultations, medicines optimisation services, discharge medication service (DMS) and any other activities associated with medicines management.

• To provide expert advice on medications (supply & clinical issues) to clinical staff across the organisation.

• To provide teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff (pharmacists, technicians & support staff) and other healthcare professionals across the organisation.

• Undertake audits and engage with the departments Quality Improvement and practice research projects.

• Participate in the on-call and out of hours service as per departmental rota

Knowledge and Experience

Demonstrable experience of working in Pharmacy upon starting in post e.g. completion of foundation training

Demonstrable experience of UK hospital pharmacy
Good proven understanding of the role of a UK hospital pharmacist
Foundation training year (previously pre-registration) undertaken in secondary care
Training in medicines information
Good general pharmaceutical & clinical proven knowledge
Provision of ward based Clinical Pharmacy Services
Demonstrable management experience, including clinical supervision of junior staff

Qualifications

4 year Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Pharmacy followed by 1 year pre-registration training.
Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or pending

Working towards Post-Graduate Certificate/ Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy
Practice Supervisor Qualification
Further clinical, research or management qualification
Proven evidence of Research or project work
Current registration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
Member of the United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA)
Working towards RPS faculty submission
Non-medical prescriber (or working towards NMP qualification) or must be willing to undertake training to qualify as NMP when requested.

Health Visitor - SHAPE

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Health Visitor to deliver and lead the Healthy Child programme across mainland Europe and Turkey. You will be responsible for supporting and monitoring the health and development of children across the 0-19 age range. The desired applicant will work in developing, implementing, and evaluating health plans in response to identified needs of the individual, family and community; participating in health promotion and public health campaigns; and assisting with the delivery of childhood immunisations.

Admiral Nurse, Young Onset Dementia

This post is a unique opportunity for an exceptional nurse with a passion for improving the care and support for families and those living with Young Onset dementia on a national level. You will provide first rate clinical support and advice to those affected and their families over the phone, online and via referrals from the helpline and clinics.

Providing support and working alongside a Consultant Admiral Nurse, you will provide clinical expertise and training, acting as a senior practitioner demonstrating knowledge and skills, and integrating knowledge into practice. You will also support the collation and evidence of data and information to develop and improve care.

Delivering nursing practice in accordance with agreed policies and procedures and the NMC code 2015, you will attend and actively participate in development days, clinical supervision and continuous professional development.

Admiral Nurse, Digital and Dementia at work

For people of working age, living with or caring for someone with dementia has its own unique challenges. With proper advice about their legal entitlements, and timely emotional support to suggest new coping strategies and patterns of working, those affected can continue to work for longer.

As an Admiral Nurse dedicated to the Dementia at Work strategy, you will work towards developing and ensuring awareness of this strategy and the continuous development and implementation of digital pathways to meet the needs of those in need. You will manage our Dementia at Work proposition working to ensure the delivery of our Dementia at Work Strategy.

The Admiral Nurse, Digital and Dementia at work will participate in the raising of awareness, training and education from corporate partners and business within the South of England and provide specialist nursing support and practical advice. Candidates will be expected to travel to face to face meetings within the South of England, so should be based in and around the South in order to travel to destinations, with some overnight stays.

To apply, you must be a registered nurse with the NMC, have significant experience in Admiral Nursing or dementia care, and demonstrate a history of delivering dementia care in various settings to individuals with dementia and their families and carers.
