To provide a comprehensive audio typing service to Consultants and/or group of clinical staff in an efficient and timely manner. This post is part of a professional multi-skilled team working across the administration services within the Pain Management Service.

***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as Priority and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

  • The key responsibilities of this role are the effective and efficient management of specific departmental and patient administration systems, ensuring strict adherence and compliance to all Trust Policies and procedures.

Swydd ddisgrifiad a phrif gyfrifoldebau manwl

  • Following introduction of digital dictation technology to ensure clinic letters are typed,  prepared for printing and distribution. 
  • Ensure all allocated clinics are typed within the appropriate timeframe.
  • To ensure letters are typed on the appropriate headed paper, or on the correct templates
  • To liaise with the clinical staff should any problems occur with the dictation.
  • To track all notes back to the appropriate locations using the IPM case note tracking system
  • Undertake routine office duties including note tracing, photocopying, emailing, filing of correspondence and results and maintenance of records as required.
  • Add appropriate referrals to IPM and advise the appropriate recipients.
  • Be versatile and adaptable to the demands of the team. 
  • Work without supervision and take the initiative as and when required.
  • Ensure effective communication with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and admin meetings.
  • Participate and attend monthly supervision meetings with Speciality Coordinator.
  • Required to cover for other colleagues during annual leave/sickness or peak workloads
  • Raise any typing delays or concerns immediately to Speciality Coordinator
  • Undertake any other duties within the directorate as required.
  • The post holder will undertake any other duties commensurate with the role and grade for this post.

Qualifications

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • • Educated to GCSE’s A-C/4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent level of qualification/ equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • • Typing to OCR Level 1 standard or equivalent qualification/ equivalent demonstrable experience

  • • Typing to OCR Level 2(or above) standard or equivalent

Knowledge and experience

  • • Previous demonstrable typing experience.
  • • Previous demonstrable experience in the use of Microsoft software packages i.e. word/excel/outlook.

  • Previous demonstrable experience within a large clinical setting
  • Demonstrable experience in using digital dictation or voice recognition software

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels.
