Band 5 Radiographer
NHS AfC: Band 5
Job overview
We would like to invite you to join our friendly team in Devon. Plymouth is a dynamic waterfront city within minutes of Dartmoor, one of the largest national parks in Britain. This is beautiful walking and cycling country and water sports are well catered for. If the arts hold appeal, the city is home to the Theatre Royal Plymouth which, in addition to local and independent projects, hosts national opera, ballet and dance companies and touring musicals. There is a thriving University which includes both medical and dental schools. Plymouth has one of the largest shopping centres in the South West with a range of both big names and independent stores. The Barbican has arts and crafts stores, a renowned Gin Distillery and is a vibrant place for a day or night out. Plymouth also has an interesting maritime history including the Plymouth steps which mark the point at which the Pilgrim fathers set sail for North America. Plymouth is the gateway into Cornwall, has good transport links to the rest of the UK and Europe via road, rail and sea and is only an hour away from the international airport at Exeter.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***
Main duties of the job

All new team members will be supported with a structured induction led by our Practice Education team, to include mentorship and image review as part of our team-wide comprehensive radiographer development programme.
Successful candidates will be able to gain a wide range of experience including trauma imaging, general and orthopaedics imaging, theatre and mobile imaging, paediatrics, fluoroscopy, and dental radiography. We are committed to providing increased opportunities to gain more experience in specialist areas and the department supports role extension. We have Assistant Practitioners and reporting radiographers in post, as well as advanced clinical practitioners and consultant radiographers demonstrating commitment to developing the 4 tier structure of radiography.
The department hosts undergraduate radiographers on placement from two local HEI's as well as training apprentice radiographers and Assistant Practitioners, so you will be expected to be actively involved in their training and supervision as part of your role.
