NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant
Trosolwg o'r swydd
The pathologists all undertake subspecialist areas of reporting and there is flexibility to accommodate the incumbent of this post in a number of subspecialist areas by mutual agreement, depending on the individual's interests and departmental needs.
Renal biopsies, lymphoma, sarcoma and medical liver biopsies are reported by a limited number of pathologists. There is currently subspecialist reporting of most other areas including breast, upper and lower gastrointestinal, urological, thoracic, head & neck and hepato-pancreatico-biliary specimens.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The post holder will be expected to develop areas of subspecialisation and join the relevant reporting teams related to those areas. Coronial post mortem work is available for interested applicants; however, it is not mandatory
There may be an opportunity for a mutually agreed re-organisation amongst the present pathologists current areas of specialist interest to allow the incumbent to become lead pathologist in an area of interest. Participation in the reporting of some of the following areas would be particularly welcomed: soft tissue pathology, thoracic pathology, uropathology, gastrointestinal pathology, head & neck pathology, medical lever and /or renal biopsies
