Our services are supported by an on-site Acute GP service providing triage and clinical input. An adjacent Short Stay Ward enables rapid review and turnover of acute medical problems. 60% of our medical take is through self-referral to ED. We work closely with this department and provide consultant cover with a dedicated Acute Physician in Charge (APIC) shift to stream and assess patients at the front door.
