§  An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individual to join the medical imaging reception team.

§  We are looking for someone who will enjoy working within a busy and vibrant team,  who can prioritise their workload, and remain calm under pressure.

§   Applicants should demonstrate a mature and responsible attitude, be proactive and be able to use their initiative.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

The post holder will:

§  To be part of the reception team in providing cover over the medical imaging department, duties include dealing patients at the front desk, making and taking telephone calls, using it systems, this is not exclusive.

To provide office management support to the Imaging Administration Team:

§  A team member providing reception support.

§  Assist with telephone calls from patients, GPs and Agencies in a courteous and helpful manner.

§  Dealing face to face with patients, carers and other professionals visiting the department, seeking advice when appropriate.

§  Assist with the tracing of patient notes.

§  To attend training and development opportunities.

§  Be aware of and follow the Health and Safety at Work Act, Security Policy and all other policies relating to Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

§  Undertake other reasonable duties at the discretion of your Line Manager and/or a member of the Imaging team.

§  To bring defects in equipment to the notice of the Line Manager take immediate action to ensure that such equipment is withdrawn from service until satisfactorily repaired.

§  To report any incident to self, staff or patient and ensure that the correct form is filled out and action is taken concerning the incident.

§  To be involved in the formal staff appraisal scheme as an appraisee.

§  To undertake duties in line with the Trust’s Information Security and Control Policy, respecting the rights of patients, fellow staff and the Trust for information not to be passed on or made available to those without a need to know. To undertake other reasonable duties at the discretion of your Line Manager and the Imaging Directorate Office or a member of the Imaging team.

  • Demonstrable reception experience
  • IT literate including Microsoft Office, Outlook and internet
  • Demonstrable administration experience

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a large clinical setting
  • Demonstrable previous iPM (in patient management system) experience

Qualifictions

  • Maths & English GCSE’s A-C or an NVQ in business admin, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Keyboard skills
