Manual Handling Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for qualified professional to join our Health and Safety Team as a Manual Handling Lead for 11.25 hours per week. 

The primary focus of this role is to provide specialist advice and guidance on all aspects of manual handling to assist in avoiding, assessing and reducing the risk of injury and ill-health from manual handling activities. 

The successful candidate will have degree level education or equivalent experience in  manual handling/ergonomics with a broad understanding of health and safety requirements. 

The post holder may be based anywhere within the Trust's geographical area.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Provide advice and guidance on the prevention and management of musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Assist in the identification of manual handling risks. 
  • Development of reports following analysis of a wide range of data to inform improvement actions. 
  • Assist with and review incident investigations related to manual handling to identify key learning. 
  • Carry out manual handling risk assessments. 
  • Review the equipment and training provision in relation to manual handling and inform of improvements required. 
  • Develop recommendations for policy and procedure development related to manual handling.

Essential criteria

  • Relevant degree level qualification/equivalent experience.
  • Post graduate qualification and experience in manual handling or ergonomics.
  • Health and safety qualification.
  • Experience in carrying out manual handling risk assessments.
  • Experience of work within an ambulance setting.
  • Experience in the development of procedures related to manual handling.
  • Experience in writing high quality reports, identifying good working practices and areas for improvement.
  • Experience of analysing, interpreting and acting on complex data to identify trends.
  • Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching programmes.
Meini prawf dymunol
  • A recognised training / teaching qualification, or working towards.
  • Recognised qualification as an Allied Health Professional with post-registration experience in a clinical setting.
