Job overview

HR Business Partner, Band 8a, 1 WTE, 12 month Secondment

Are you passionate about making a difference in a fast-paced environment? Do you thrive in a role where you can support and empower others? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are a small, close-knit team that values collaboration, innovation, and the unique contributions of each member; committed to fostering a compassionate and inclusive workplace culture.

NHS Devon ICB are seeking a proactive HR Business Partner to join our Chief People Officer Directorate for a 12-month secondment. This is a unique opportunity to engage in a role that blends both strategic and operational functions across a wide range of HR areas, offering you the chance to make a significant impact on our organisation and contribute to meaningful projects.

In this role, you will work closely with senior managers to align HR initiatives with organisational objectives. You will be the HR business partner for a designated area,  providing expert advice across key HR areas such as employee relations, recruitment, workforce data, reward, and training & development, whilst also leading and managing HR projects and initiatives.  Your ability to draft clear and concise reports on complex HR matters will be crucial in effectively communicating ideas to diverse audiences.

Main duties of the job

One of the areas of responsibilities within your portfolio will involve workforce data and systems reporting, so an interest in this area is important. You will be responsible for analysing and interpreting a range of workforce data to provide actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. Your expertise in data analysis, coupled with clear report writing skills, will help identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

We are looking for someone with proven HR experience, with a proactive approach, a passion for problem-solving and innovation along with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.  The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment will set you apart in this role. A strong understanding of HR employment law, and a MCIPD qualification or equivalent experience is essential.

In return for your dedication and expertise, we offer a warm, friendly, and supportive team environment. We understand the importance of work-life balance, which is why we support flexible working arrangements to help you balance home and work life.

If you’re ready to join a team that values your contributions, we’d love to hear from you. For an informal conversation, contact, Sam Tribble, Assistant Director of HR, [email protected]
