Job overview

Due to Maternity Leave there is an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS leadership Team on a 12 month FTC until the end of June 2025, covering the clinical and operational leadership of the Erewash and South Derbyshire CAMHS recovery Team. 

The CAMHS Recovery Team managers work closely together, and are an integral part of the wider CAMHS leadership team. 

The post holder will manage all aspects of the daily functioning of the CAMHS Recovery Team. 

The post holder will ensure the operational standards across the pathway, pertaining to the safe access, support and discharge of all children and young people within their team. 

This will include the following:  recruitment and selection of staff, induction, training, supervision and appraisals, sickness and other absence, contribute to disciplinary and grievance processes, personal and career development, the team’s workload, managing and overseeing waiting lists, allocation and individual caseload management. 

Work in conjunction with senior leaders within the CAMHS Leadership Structure to challenge existing practice and initiate improvement in services to meet the needs of Children and Young People (CYP) and achieve corporate and national objectives. Maintaining a CYP-IAPT compliant service.

The Erewash & South Derbyshire team is a multi disciplinary team,  has a strong team ethos and works from both Century House and Dale Bank View. 

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be operationally and Clinically accountable for the direct delivery of the multi-professional clinical care service for the CAMHS Recovery Team in that area and will manage a range of staff from different professional and non-professional backgrounds. 

To act as a role model to provide high standards of professionalism representing Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the exercise of their duties. 

Nurture a culture of respect for others and an environment that values and is respectful of ethnicity, gender, culture, experience and individuality for all staff and people in our care including carers, creating a positive working environment.

To provide operational leadership, direction and development to ensure that the skills and capabilities of the team are effectively utilised to maximise the potential of individuals.

There is a need to be able to travel across bases with ease within this post - being a care driver is essential.

The post holder will contribute to decision making of the CAMHS Service Line, participating in a range of meetings and forums requiring accountability for service delivery.

The post holder will be the budget holder for the Team. Be responsible for holding and monitoring the budget and for the procurement and maintenance of physical assets and supplies for the service.

The post holder will contribute to the setting of the budget for the service, working alongside the Finance Manager.

To be accountable for the team’s budget and attend finance meetings, justifying team expenditure.

Working in partnership with other professional leads to ensure that the service area is able to meet its performance and quality targets.

Will assist in services transformational change to encompass the need for change within the service.  These will be highlighted by NHS England, NHS 10 Year plan and CCGs.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse/Occupational Therapist/Social Worker

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of working in a leadership role or supervising staff/equivalent
  • Recent and relevant experience of working within a mental health team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a CAMHS setting and or community setting
  • Experience of working with stakeholders/external partners in a leadership capacity
