Here’s more about the role and what we’re looking for;

We are looking for someone who demonstrates initiative, strong team working skills and a passion for excellence in stroke patient care. 

You will be based on either the acute or rehab stroke unit, with a commitment to working flexibly across the service and actively participate in the modified 7 day therapy service provided on ASU. We have a large, highly specialised team that works very closely with the whole stroke MDT, we have a comprehensive Neurological physiotherapy training programme as well as MDT training opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate and build on your existing neuro skills whilst gaining experience in areas such as service development and teaching.

You will be required to work to support the timely assessment, treatment and discharge of individual  stroke patients within the stroke service at the Royal Derby Hospital/ Florence Nightingale Community Hospital.  You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a high quality of service for patients during the inpatient phase of their recovery.

In brief you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience working as a qualified band 5.
  • Relevant neurology experience.
  • Evidence of on-going learning and commitment to CPD.
  • Experience of MDT working, communication and complex discharge planning.
  • Willingness to complete clinical educators course and subsequently participate in supervision of physiotherapy students.
  • Willing to take part in the respiratory on call rota following achievement of relevant competencies and training.
