Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Respiratory Physiotherapist to join the ImpACT+, Integrated Respiratory Service for Southern Derbyshire.

The ImpACT+ Physiotherapy team is an extremely driven and dynamic team who strive to deliver exceptional patient care at every opportunity. We have been recognised nationally from the NRAP Pulmonary Rehabilitation Audit as a centre of excellence for the patient outcomes our patients achieve. We are also working to become a nationally accredited provider for Pulmonary Rehabilitation through the PRSAS scheme. 

This role will join an established and highly experienced team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Fitness instructors and Respiratory Assistants and Respiratory Consultants who are responsible for delivering specialist respiratory services for Southern Derbyshire.

Main duties of the job

This post will be involved in a range of responsibilities;

- This role will be involved in the delivery of a virtual respiratory ward as part of a wider team

- Delivering Pulmonary Rehabilitation for patients with chronic respiratory disease (COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, ILD and patients waiting for LVRS or lung transplant). 

- Developing and supporting existing Secondary care clinics for Bronchiectasis and ILO patients.

- Respiratory outpatient clinics and home visits for a range of patients.

- Deliver assessment and treatment plans for Neuromuscular patient groups including assessments for cough augmentation.  The team also take an active role in NMD MDT's with the Medical team including Neuromuscular care coordinator as well as transition clinics.

- Have the support of MDT's within the team to discuss challenging patients and support clinical decision making.

- Assess and treat patients with disordered breathing pattern and chronic cough. This may be an a group setting on 1:1.
