Job overview

Are you an experienced Clinical Trials Manager looking for a new challenge in a growing team? 

The Clinical Trials Manager-Sponsor will be responsible for management of University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Trust (UHDB) sponsored studies. The role will ensure that research projects are managed in line with the relevant legislation and regulations, research governance policies, requirements of research funders within frameworks of governance and to maintain the day-to-day management of trials. 

UHDB currently sponsors  studies including both observational and interventional trials.  There are currently over 200 studies open to recruitment across Derby and Burton Hospitals.

 UHDB hosts the Derby Clinical Trials Support Unit (DCTSU), established in 2008 . The integration within a research active Trust provides a unique insight into delivering clinical trials within the NHS by utilising our close collaboration with clinical colleagues

 The DCTSU is provisionally registered with the UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) network and supports a portfolio of high quality research into different areas, further information can be found on our website https://www.uhdb.nhs.uk/derby-ctu

 

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Trials Manager-Sponsor will work closely with other members of the study set up team and wider members of the R&D and Derby CTSU teams including statisticians, data managers and administrator. The role is under the guidance of the Head of Clinical Trials and Research Governance

The responsibilities of the post include the efficient set-up and delivery of UHDB sponsored trials, assisting with the review and set up of studies at UHDB, liaising with sites for UHDB sponsored studies
