Job overview
The Renal Research Nurse will be an integral part of the renal team supporting the development of a seamless research team across the department. They will have renal knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks related to the planning, undertaking of clinical research and act as a resource for staff, researchers, research
participants and patients alike.
Main duties of the job
• They will take a lead in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of a designated number of clinical research studies.
• The Clinical Trials Nurse (CTN) takes responsibility and is accountable for delegated Clinical Trails /Research activity within the Renal Team
• The CTN will work as part of the larger research team to develop and deliver recruitment targets and strategies to meet these.
• The post holder will be a flexible, motivated team player and will have a good understanding of clinical trials and research generally.

- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Experience & Knowledge

- Demonstrable post registration experience for professional
- Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within an acute hospital environment
- Knowledge of Data Protection Act 1984, GDPR and Caldicott Principles
Desirable criteria
- Clinical Research experience
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
Skills and Ability
Essential criteria
- Demonstrated ability to work within a muldti-disciplinary team and use own initiave
- IT skills: MS Office and other database
- Experience in Venepuncture
- Broad range of clinical nursing skills
Desirable criteria
- EXperience in working in the NHS
