Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Medicine Medical Staffing Administrator within the Acute Medicine Business Unit.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to embrace and develop this fast paced and interesting role.  You must be an effective communicator, possess excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word and Excel), have excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills, be able to manage rotas, problem solve, inductions and ensure efficient and effective organisation and delivery of all aspects of operational medical staffing issues for specialist medicine.  

This role is office based at the Royal Derby Hospital site and the hours are Monday-Friday - 08.30-16.30 or 09.00-17.00.

The Medical Staffing team within the Acute Medicine Business Unit includes both the Emergency Department team, as well as the Acute Medicine/Medicine team and we work closely together.  The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for accuracy/detail, be an enthusiastic, highly motivated, hard-working and approachable individual to complement our friendly team.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide and receive routine information requiring tact or persuasive skills.
  • Collection and dissemination of information to ensure prompt production of rotas, taking into account annual, study and special leave whilst ensuring clinical commitments and targets are delivered.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict Trust deadlines
  • Daily concentration required for data handling
  • Answers queries throughout working day
