Job overview

A rare and exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Registered Nursing Associate in the Head and Neck  Outpatient Department. This unique role focuses on working as part of a large team alongside consultants and wider members of the MDT whilst delivering high quality care to service users.

The role will be varied across all the specialities with the department including Ears Nose & Throat, Max Fax and Plastic Surgery as required, all of which are located within the Head and Neck Unit.

The department offers a wide range of clinics which include General ENT/ Max Fax, Head and Neck Cancer, Voice, Trans Nasal Oesophagoscopy and Balance. Plastic Surgery clinics are also housed within the department

Main duties of the job

University Hospitals of Derby & Burton are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Nursing Associate within Surgical Outpatients. Surgical Outpatients is dedicated to delivering high quality patient centred care and aims to provide a timely service to our users.

We welcome applications from Nursing Associates  with a keen interest in the  ENT/ Head and Neck and Plastic Surgery speciality.

You will work closely with clinicians and communicate effectively with them regarding patients. 

The Nursing  Associate  will be involved in the day to day running of clinics. Working with a wide Multi-disciplinary Team. They will be involved in assisting the Clinician with various procedures during consultations. 

Th Nursing Associate is expected to participate in Aural Care Nurse led Clinics at the Royal Derby Hospital .

Experience in  the above area is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

You must be committed to delivering high quality patient care and be able to work flexibly. On occasion there is late working as required. The ability the prioritise your workload is paramount and you must be able to support the smooth running of the clinic.
