6 months Fixed Term/Secondment

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the chance to join our diabetes clinical nurse specialist team. The post holder will work as part of the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, Specialist  Diabetes Nursing Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a member of a specialist multidisciplinary team comprising consultants, nurses, dietitians, and support staff to develop an innovative integrated service.

 

 

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist has become available to work within the Diabetes & Endocrinology Team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB). We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who wishes to become part of a successful team working across Southern Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.

Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with broad experience as a Registered Nurse, a positive outlook and a passion for driving services forward. Experience within Diabetes and across inpatient/outpatient/community settings would be advantageous.

Specific to role details:

The successful applicant will be expected to work across all Diabetes Services and sites within the Trust as required depending on service priorities.

Applicants will be able to access all of our Hospitals sites with ease.

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • At least Demonstrable experience within an acute inpatient setting or working within a community setting
  • Ability to travel between sites
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience in diabetes specific community, inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Ability to use IT systems and work processes
  • Nurse Prescriber
  • Experience in audit and/or research
  • Experience in leadership and management of staff at Band 6 AfC level or above
