Job overview

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton seeking a highly motivated, experienced and collaborative team player to be our next Associate Director of Patient Access and Performance. 

This role is crucial to ensuring that excellent patient care is underpinned by solid processes that ensure the Trust is offering the best possible access to services in line with national guidance.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that our operational teams are realising their full potential in improving performance against the national access standards working closely with our Divisional leaders.

Main duties of the job

An experienced data analyst you will be able to utilise the Trust’s data systems to build performance reports that offer insight into service delivery and inform good decision making over actions to make improvements.

You will be able to work collaboratively with our Business Intelligence and Information teams and our contracts and planning teams to ensure that our performance data is effective and accurate and inform excellent reporting through to our Trust Board and NHS England

You will coordinate performance meetings that effectively hold our business unit teams to account for delivery and support Divisional Directors and the Deputy Chief Operating Officer to focus on the actions they need to take to ensure the right actions are being taken to prioritise timely patient care.

Essential criteria
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Post graduate qualification/MBA in a healthcare/Business management subject

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Extensive in-depth knowledge and experience of operational management
  • Significant experience working at a senior management level including demonstrable experience in leading successful change management and service developments
Desirable criteria
  • Track record of leading complex change management projects

Communications and interpersonal skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence decisions and strategy at Board level
