Job overview

Responsible for the delivery of the ICB Quality, governance and assurance agenda with particular emphasis on All Age Continuing Care (AACHC) and the Complex Case Panels to include Hospice Care and Personal Health Budgets.

This role will support the Deputy Chief Nurse and the Complex Case Governance and Assurance Team (CCGA) to ensure robust clinical governance processes which will enable effective and safe service delivery.

Main duties of the job

Provide effective leadership and specialist advice in nursing, quality, patient experience, patient safety and clinical effectiveness;

The post holder will lead the team responsible for delivery of their portfolios;

The post holder will lead on the delivery of the AACHC agenda, and liaise with providers, local authority and all key stakeholders to ensure delivery on behalf of the ICB;

Ensure ICB arrangements for consideration of Joint Funding are in place, regularly reviewed and reflect Framework requirements.

The post holder will contribute to the provision of effective delivery and support to major and complex quality work programmes in respect of their workstreams, to enable the ICB to meet its statutory responsibilities. 

The post holder will work to develop effective collaborative relationships with Providers, local commissioning organisations, providers and other key external stakeholders;

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse with sound detailed knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare
  • Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations;

Communication Skills

Essential criteria
  • Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential groups

Management Skills

Essential criteria
  • Skills for managing relationships with a range of different stakeholders

Financial and Physical Resources

Essential criteria
  • Previously responsible for a budget, involved in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes
