Senior Digital Solution Architect (Nervecentre EPR Implementation)

DSFS Grade G

Job overview

The East Midlands Acute Providers Digital Design Collaborative (EMAP DDC)

The Digital Design Collaborative (DDC) is a group of NHS Acute Trusts in the East Midlands Region of England who have come together to strategically plan and collaborate on their collective digital transformation journey, with the ambition to strategically operate as one health care system.

The DDC vision is We will have the best EPR in the NHS for the benefit of our patients, staff and population.  This will be achieved by:

  • Prioritising safety in our journey to improving patient care ensuring highest standards of safety and wellbeing
  • Adding value to the working lives of our staff and empowering them to deliver exceptional patient outcomes with ease and confidence
  • Contribute to the creation of a healthcare landscape where excellence  is the norm, innovation is embraced, and the benefits of the  collaboration are fully realised

The DDC member organisations have embarked on a digital excellence journey to implement a nationally leading Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system that will transform the quality of care for their patients and staff by having instantly accessible information using the latest mobile technology, reducing paper usage and utilising clinical decision support tools.

DSFS is proud to be supporting the EMAP DDC in the delivery of its vision.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Digital Solution Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Nervecentre Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems, aligning digital solutions with the needs of the EMAP DDC partner organisations. Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisations, you will gather requirements, develop tailored solutions, and ensure they adhere to the digital strategies while considering scalability, security, and relevant standards.

Initially based at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL), you will work closely with the Architecture, Infrastructure, Development, and Application teams to facilitate a coordinated approach to delivering digital services. Your specialist knowledge in healthcare application landscapes will be critical in creating a high service level for the Trust.  As a senior member of the team, you will mentor and coach other architects, fostering their professional development while acting as the technical authority supporting the Head of Digital Architectural Services.

Flexibility will be required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital), eventually working across all EMAP DDC sites.

This role is essential in driving the successful adoption of the Nervecentre EPR, enhancing patient care through improved digital solutions and collaborative practices within the EMAP DDC organisations.
