Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Stores & Distribution Team to  assist in the provision of medications to ward areas as well as working in the Pharmacy Store.  

We are looking for an excellent team player who is hardworking and enthusiastic to participate in and support the provision of our services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

KEY RESULT AREAS

These are the key areas that support the purpose of the job

  • To participate in the provision of stock and non-stock items to wards and departments including the provision of topping up and a range of medicines management duties.
  • To support the use of ward automation systems in the control of stock held at ward level.
  • To ensure that data entry into pharmacy computer systems is accurate and timely.
  • To process orders for medicines under the terms of the site Wholesale dealers license in accordance with relevant SOPs.
  • To carry out general stock management duties in all areas of the pharmacy including receipt of goods, transfers, stock counts, stock rotation and investigation of stock discrepancies when necessary.
  • To undertake relevant training as required.

A-C /or Grade 4-9 in English and Maths

Level 2 NVQ Pharmacy (or equivalent)
