Specialist occupational therapists play a key role in supporting our service users in their personal recovery journey,  developing a life outside of their eating disorder.

We have an established OT team within a passionate multidisciplinary team aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders. The job role will involve occupational therapy assessment and interventions via 1:1 and group interventions.

The successful candidate will also supervise occupational therapy assistants and be mentors for students on placement with our team.

Previous experience of working in an eating disorder service is desirable but not necessary, as we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities.

The DHCFT Eating Disorder Service was established in 2007, it is an expanding team which provides a specialist service to people with primary eating disorders.

The existing team covers the city of Derby and the county of Derbyshire providing a high-quality evidence based therapeutic service, delivering clinical interventions to clients with eating disorders and their families or carers.

You will be working alongside experienced clinicians, with many opportunities to work in collaboration with other staff in the service too.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to be a good communicator and team player.

We offer appointments online and in person, to meet the needs of service users with a primary eating disorder.

There will be a requirement to travel to see clients and be flexible to meet the demands of the job.

You will be expected to maintain good working relationships both inside and outside the trust. You will need to have the ability to manage clients with high levels of complexity and risk.

The current multi professional team comprises a Service Manager, Clinical Lead, Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurse Therapists, CBT Therapists, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Psychologists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Peer Workers and Administrators

The service also provides consultation and advice to a wide range of staff.

The service has close working relationship with other eating disorders services in the East Midlands region.

Additionally, we work in partnership with First Steps Self help and support service to deliver high quality interventions to carers.
