Job overview
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (WAST) operates a state-of-the-art maintenance facility in Merthyr Tydfil for all the South and East’s Trust vehicles. The Specialist Fleet Store Person is a critical role ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained so all technicians have the parts readily available as they need them. Specialist technical equipment and vehicle clinical equipment is serviced, calibrated, LOLER and PUWER compliant. A well organised team player with an ability to look at trends, plan ahead and arrange for stock to be delivered “just in time” is essential.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Fleet Store Person will be responsible for ensuring that equipment, parts and consumables are managed securely, safely and effectively. All technical equipment must be calibrated/maintained, and all parts audit ably accounted for and allocated to the relevant job card before leaving the stores.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Responsible for the workshop parts, consumables and equipment, ensuring all parts are auditable from the time they are ordered and allocated to a job number.
Processing and accurately recording all workshop equipment compliance including Lifting Operating and loading Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
Effectively planning spare parts and consumables to be in stock or ordered in readiness for vehicle servicing and maintenance
