Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with UHMBT Community Respiratory Service (Lancaster base) as a Community Respiratory Physiotherapist for 12 months (to cover maternity leave), with full time hours available [part time and job share will be considered].

The role will involve supporting our MDT to run one of our Pulmonary rehabilitation programmes, including assessments, fitness testing, creating exercise programmes, running group exercise and patient education classes, along with the clinical admin and audit surrounding this work.

The role will also involve running outpatient and some domiciliary Respiratory Physiotherapy clinics/visits, to provide assessments and symptom management therapies to those with chronic lung disease [e.g. cough, secretion, breathlessness and breathing pattern disorder management]

Main duties of the job

Your role as Community Respiratory Physiotherapist in our team involves close team working with our Nurses, Physiotherapists and support staff, to deliver high quality symptom management to those struggling with a chronic lung condition.

As a Physiotherapist, you will undertake comprehensive holistic assessments, including Respiratory full history taking, clinical examination, special testing and evaluation of clinical outcomes.

You will utilise your knowledge of rehabilitation, respiratory and chronic disease to create individually tailored programmes of exercise, and/or symptom management therapies, along side a behaviour change approach to self management, all to improve the quality of life and independence of people with chronic lung disease.

You will work in group, home and clinic settings to provide accessible care to our patient caseload.

You will work effectively as a team member to support the needs of the service and our patients.

You will actively engage in CPD to develop and maintain your Respiratory specialism.

See person specification and job description for further details.
