We are looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic person to join our clerical support team as an Estates Admin and Technical Support Officer.

Main duties of the job

This is a highly rewarding role. Working as part of the Estates Clerical Support Team, you will be an important link in a chain that takes a problem to the final solution.

Working as part of a team, and individually, you will be required to assist in the planning, organisation, and management of all aspects of Fire Safety and Estates & Facilities support within acute and community NHS properties.

The successful candidate must be able to self-motivate, work relatively unsupervised, and be an excellent communicator on all levels. Experience of working on a telephone helpline/helpdesk is essential along with proven experience of Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Office, and quality improvement and procurement software.

A healthcare, commercial, or industrial background is preferred and a good understanding of fire safety, building and engineering practices would be advantageous but not essential - as specific training will be provided.

This post is based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, and Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe.

FGH and the RLI have a range of general hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
