Job overview

This post is for Non UK applicants only.  UK applicants, please see separate vacancy advertisement.

A unique opportunity has arisen in the Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (iMSK) for an extended scope practitioner to join our team in Morecambe Bay for a fixed term post or developmental secondment opportunity.

The iMSK service delivers triage, assessment, management and treatment for patients experiencing muscle and joint problems with the aim of ensuring appropriate referrals are sent onto the Orthopaedic services and those who can be managed in the community receive effective, evidence based assessment, diagnoses and treatment.

Main duties of the job

Are you an Physiotherapist  with demonstrable muscloskteatal assessment and treatment skills and ready for the next stage of your clinical career?

We have an exciting opportunity to join the IMSK Service as Extended Scope / Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP). This post will be based in community clinics, supporting patients across Morecambe Bay to have timely access to services.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Consultant Physiotherapist and wider team to implement our Clinical Strategy and contribute to the wider service delivery.

Applications are invited from candidates who are AHPs and have or are working towards an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or appropriate knowledge and experience to work at this level.

A significant proportion of patients require injection therapy, therefore it is essential you are qualified to administer or are currently working toward this qualification.

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
