Band 5 Staff nurse, Endoscopy Department primarily Pre-assessment based up to 75 hours
Are you looking for a new and exciting challenge? As we move to our state of the art new purpose built unit. The Pre-assessment service is lead by a dynamic and forward thinking nurse. Endoscopy Pre- assessment nursing provides you with a varied role. Hours will be considered to give you a work life balance. We aim to provide a high standard of care to all our patients. We are very excited to move into our new purpose built Endoscopy unit in March 2025.
Plus, we are keen to nurture and develop our staff. Many of our staff progress onto Nurse specialist roles or Trainee Nurse endoscopists. Endoscopy can provide this opportunity for you.
Dedicated quarterly training and well being days are protected for all our nursing team.
Main duties of the job
We are a dynamic team and training and development is high on our agenda on the unit. As well as diagnostic procedures we specialise in GI Bleeding emergency cases daily, ERCP and Respiratory lists twice weekly.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse with active registration.
- Mentorship qualification or equivalent
- ILS certificate or equivalent.
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Clinical endoscopy experience
- ENB 906 (Endoscopy and related procedures) or equivalent
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the role of the endoscopy service and experience in the pre-assessment of patients for invasive endoscopy investigations.
- Continuing professional development with portfolio
- NMC code of professional conduct.
- Professional leadership within area of practice
- Clinical supervision.
- Mentoring / preceptorship.
- All aspects of endoscopy procedures.
Desirable criteria
- Audit and research in practice.
Skills and Aptitudes
Essential criteria
- Able to work without supervision and make own decisions based on patient presentation and assessments
