Many of the treatments we offer to our patients are Nurse Led, so it is an interesting and developing area for nurses. We are a supportive team of consultants, SAS grade doctors, ACPs and Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Full training and support will be given for you to achieve your competences.

Working alongside the rest of the Dermatology Team to provide a high standard of patient care. You at times be working independently, so will required to process good analytical and assessment skills.

Receiving referrals and prioritising patient depending on clinical need, then booking patients into the clinic. Assessment of patients and evaluation of the treatment.

You will be required to have good communication and team working skills

Main duties of the job

You will be required to be based full time at FGH to work within the Phototherapy team. Where you will be responsible for receiving referrals for the treatment, booking patients into the clinic and carrying out the treatment.

After being fully trained you will be required to run the clinic, seeing both adults and children. Part of your role will also include running AI clinics and training up for patch testing.

You maybe required to ravel across to RLI to support services there and for any training, therefore the ability to drive is essential. You will be working independently with support from the Nursing team over at RLI and doctors covering FGH, so this position would not be suitable for newly qualified nurses

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
