Resuscitation Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation training department for a part-time band 6 Resuscitation Officer based at Royal Cornwall Hospital. The successful applicant will be an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic health professional with demonstrable involvement and interest in resuscitation practice, education and/or the care of deteriorating patients.

Experience in an acute or critical care environment is essential. A substantial proportion of the role will be delivery of life support training to all grades of staff and you will therefore need to have proven teaching/assessing skills and hold an advanced life support certificate or have progressed to Instructor status.

 

This is a part time post working 18.75 hours per week.

  • Current APLS/EPLS Provider

Experience

  • Previous experience of teaching resuscitation skills
  • At least 5 years post registration experience
  • Recent experience in an NHS acute inpatient setting or relevant other experience
  • Knowledge of learning theories, the processes of learning and a practical appreciation of learning styles

  • Previous experience as a Resuscitation Officer
  • Experience in neonatal, paediatric and trauma care

Practical & Intellectual Skills

  • Proven ability to teach and facilitate learning in both clinical and classroom settings
  • Experience of assessing competence and level of understanding
  • Experience of giving effective feedback

  • Experience in co-ordinating National Resuscitation Courses
