An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Gastroenterology and Hepatology secretarial team.  

Flexible working opportunities can be discussed, including home working once established in the role.  This post will involve working on site on a rota basis.

This role is for 30 hours per week (4 x full days or 5 x shorter days to include working on site and home working)

Main duties of the job

To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to clinical staff using a range of secretarial procedures in accordance with the processes.

To contribute to the effective delivery of patient care, through knowledge of consultant practice and hospital systems. 

To be flexible to provide cover for colleagues as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE’s (or equivalent) level ‘C’ Maths and English.
Desirable criteria
  • AMSPAR Medical Secretarial Diploma.
  • RSA stage 3 typing or equivalent Proven windows experience (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Secretarial Experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Previous NHS experience.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Advanced keyboard skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively with staff of different disciplines.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with guidance available from immediate supervisor.
