Staff Nurse - Endoscopy Services
We have an exciting opportunity available at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for Registered Nurses to join our committed team on the Endoscopy Unit within the Specialist Services and Surgery Care Group.
We are seeking applications from nurses who have the ability and determination to learn, to gain new skills, and competencies. You will be working in the unit and at satellite areas, that provide a positive environment to work in, whilst respecting your contribution to work within a specialty that gives you an opportunity to do what you do best, care for patients.
We encourage applicants to be from both acute and non-acute nursing backgrounds and who are motivated to develop the highest standards of care and who are committed to continuous improvement.
This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week. However, part-time hours would also be considered.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse you will be a key player of the team in decision making for the on-going treatment and care. We are seeking to appoint highly motivated and enthusiastic people that want to ensure the highest of quality in nursing care whilst respecting patient’s privacy and dignity.
Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills and have a good knowledge and understanding of clinical standards. You must be able to work on your own initiative and also be an excellent team player whilst being prepared to develop as an individual and support others to develop.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Level 1 Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration / students pending registration
Desirable criteria
- Assessing & Mentoring qualification Commitment to obtain assessing / mentoring qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- A minimum of six months experience in an acute Trust within the last twelve months (this can include student placement)
Desirable criteria
- Experience within the speciality
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of evidence based practice to enhance care
- Understanding of the importance of research and evidence based practice
Travel
Essential criteria
- Role requires the ability to cross site work. (Royal Cornwall Hospital, Bodmin Hospital and West Cornwall Hospital)

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
