Devon & Cornwall Care Record Team Leader

Band 6

Job overview

The Devon and Cornwall Care Record (DCCR) went live successfully in August 2022 and the project continues to grow and develop.  We have been rolling out to GPs, acute trusts, hospices and mental health providers across Devon and Cornwall.

The DCCR is the first system to provide a joined-up view of a patient’s activity bringing significant improvement to patient care via a single view of patient information held in various systems across Devon and Cornwall.

The project is well underway and our next mission is to continue to roll out to other Trusts, care homes, domiciliary care providers and Councils.     We are also enriching the data within the Record, bringing it to a wider audience and moving forward with electronic Treatment Escalations Plans (TEP) forms.     Its exciting seeing the product develop and provide such a valuable service.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic and ready for a challenge to develop and manage the Team.  You will have strong leadership skills with experience of working within system administration.   You will have a logical approach to problem solving with tenacity to get to the root cause of an issue and to drive forward any improvements to stop reoccurrence.   You will have a friendly and approachable demeanour who is able to support and motivate a team through challenging times.

You will be responsible for 5  DCCR team members who are all part of the wider Clinical & Business Team within Cornwall IT Services.   The team will provide system security, support to the Users and system administration on the various applications.    Flexibility is key to the role as we move forward with our Digital transformation and new systems.

Training will be provided on the Applications and you will be supported in this role by fellow Team Leaders and the Application Support Manager.

Working for our organisation

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target.  All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
