Are you a passionate, innovative and creative CBT therapist?

Would like to be part of and shape, the exciting expansion and further development of our Early Intervention in Psychosis service in Cornwall?

We are seeking to recruit a qualified and accredited CBT therapist to work within our newly commissioned ‘At Risk Mental State’ (ARMS) pathway within our well-established Early Intervention in Psychosis Service in Cornwall. This post will be based within our East ARMS Team, working alongside a CBT Therapist in the West ARMS Team, and closely with the ARMS Clinical Psychologist and multidisciplinary ARMS team colleagues. Ideally, we are looking for a qualified and experienced CBT for psychosis (CBTp) therapist, but welcome applications from accredited CBT therapists with an keen interest or experience in working with psychosis as we can provide further CBTp training.

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service in Cornwall was established in 2004 and since then, has gone from strength to strength. It has achieved both local and national recognition for it’s quality of service and innovative practice. With the expansion of this service to incorporate an ARMS pathway, it is an exciting time to be joining the service and supporting and shaping these developments.

The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service is a countywide service with two bases, in Bodmin and Redruth, and the ARMS pathway is also located within these two bases. The post-holder will work closely with ARMS colleagues to deliver CBTp and CBT to the ARMS population. They will also offer advice, training, consultation and supervision to CBT trained colleagues and those undergoing triaging or providing CBT informed interventions.

The post-holder will also be part of a vibrant and passionate multidisciplinary Early Intervention in Psychosis Service, with strong clinical psychology and psychological therapy provision. Supervision and ongoing support and training will be provided to enable you to develop your expertise and we have close links with both Exeter and Plymouth Universities.

 

Main duties of the job

  • To work as a CBT for psychosis (CBTp) therapist in the ARMS pathway of the East Early Intervention in Psychosis Team.
  • To work with people experiencing an ‘at risk mental state’, and liaise with a wide range of both statutory and non-statutory agencies to provide creative packages of care.
  • To support CBTp and CBT provision through direct clinical work, delivering assessment, formulation, and individual and group CBT interventions.
  • To offer specialist CBT consultation, supervision and training for other ARMS staff.  
  • Work closely with other MDT colleagues within the ARMS service, and  liaise with EIP MDT colleagues.

  • Full range of CBT skills ad competencies experiance
  • Experience in delivering CBT in secondary care
