An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated clerical assistant / typist to join the MSK / Physiotherapy Service, based at the Friarage Hospital, Northallerton.
The role will be to provide clerical support, typing and reception cover for the MSK and Physiotherapy Departments.
Candidates must have previous clerical and typing experience. Knowledge of SystmOne, Choose & Book and medical terminology is desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job
To be effective in this role you must be able to work as part of a team, have an excellent telephone manner and be capable of sustaining a high level of client service.
Previous experience in a busy office/reception environment is beneficial. We require a flexible and organised person to join the team and assist in the smooth running of the service.
Good communication skills are necessary and the post holder would need to have good organisational skills and be competent in IT. Knowledge of SystmOne would be desirable.
Duties will include:-
Providing typing to the musculoskeletal clinics including letters, reports, discharges as required (formatting electronically dictated clinic letters). Using hospital IT systems to track appointments, reports, details etc as required. Maintain patient records using SystmOne. Liaise with other departments, GPs, hospitals to obtain information regarding patients. Answer telephone queries, convey messages and transfer calls as necessary. To maintain effective communication links within the musculoskeletal service / physiotherapy service and across the Trust and external agencies Provide cover for Physiotherapy Reception. To develop and improve competence in self and acquire new skills and apply to practice Other office duties such as photocopying as required. |
