This is a replacement post to join a team of 15 urologists working across the Tees Valley. The appointee will have a special interest in Uro-oncology delivering specialised services to the Tees Valley. In addition, the consultant team offers core and general urology services. The post holder will be based at the South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
Urology services are offered at 4 sites across the Tees Valley and between our consultant team we deliver and supervise sessions at all four sites. It is advertised as a whole time post (10 programmed activities including 2 Supporting Professional Activities), although any candidate who is unable to work full time will be eligible to apply and, if appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed in consultation with consultant colleagues and the Medical Director.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the GMC
- FRCS(Urol) or equivalent
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of expected date of CCT
Desirable criteria
- Post CCT higher training / Fellowship in FFNUU
- Post graduate qualification in research
Clinical Specialty Skills
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive management of functional urology cases, with emphasis on reconstructive surgery
- Management of core and General Urology cases
- Management of acute urology cases
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of initiating quality improvement activity
Skills, Knowledge and aptitude
Essential criteria
- Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to organise and prioritise complex demands
- Evidence of teaching and training skills for resident doctors
- Effective communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Management training
- IT skills
- Post graduate qualification in teaching
- Interest to develop & lead research activity
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience in reconstructive, female and functional urology
- Evidence of clinical audit
- Reconstructive surgery evidenced by a logbook
- Relevant experience in conducting Urodynamic investigations
- Relevant experience in Artificial urinary Sphincter surgery and management
Desirable criteria
- Experience in complex reconstructive surgery
- Experience in the management of the urinary tract in the spinal cord injured patient

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
