An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key role in the coordination of the Neurosciences services at South Tees Hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy collaborative with lots of prospects for development and further learning. You will be required to support day-to-day operations with a specific focus on organising medical staff rotas, ensuring that clinical staffing and resources are allocated and utilised appropriately to meet demand on multiple sites in line with clinical need.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have excellent planning, communication and organisational skills.  They will work closely with the secretarial team and build relationships with the secretarial,  appointment and administrative teams to provide an efficient and reliable service for patients, ensuring that all elements of out-patient services unite. An understanding of out-patient and inpatient waiting lists although training will be provided for the right candidate.

Experience & Education

Essential criteria
  • Educated to A Level standard or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of co-ordinating resources to meet objectives.
  • Degree / Diploma or demonstrable experience
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience of working in NHS organisations.
  • • Experience of working within a customer orientated organisation

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • • Understanding of rota systems.
  • • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards.
  • • An understanding of South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • • Be able to handle sensitive situations professionally, tactfully and with discretion.
  • • Attention to detail and the ability to produce and maintain accurate records
  • • Computer literate with an excellent understanding of software packages, including MS Word and Excel.
