An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Trauma and Orthopaedic team at James Cook University Hospital.
Providing advanced clinical and professional Physiotherapy to patients on the Trauma and Orthopaedic wards as well as provide support to the Physiotherapy Team Lead ensuring that the Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team contributes to the Strategic Plan for South Tees NHS Trust.

The post holder will be expected to have experience and knowledge of the physiotherapy management of trauma and orthopaedic patients.
To undertake advanced physiotherapy assessments of patients with complex and multifactorial conditions and deliver individualised treatment plans. Relevant post graduate study, leadership training and experience is also desirable.
This post will offer development of clinical skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are supported through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research and the hospital has close links with both the University of Teesside and Durham University.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:
· Explore leadership within the NHS
· Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
· Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
· Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Qualifications

- • BSc or Diploma in appropriate profession
- HCPC registered
- • Achieved or willing to work towards relevant Post-graduate qualification/training
Knowledge and skills

- • Theoretical knowledge and applied clinical practice in a broad range of orthopaedic areas.
- • Good understanding of the structure, policies, priorities and format of the NHS
- • Knowledge of relevant national guidelines and standards
- • Experience of in-patient and outpatient orthopaedic rehabilitation
Experience
