An exciting opportunity has arisen on our busy surgical ward specialising in ENT, Plastic Surgery, OMFS and Ophthalmology.  We are excited to offer the opportunity for a registered nursing associate to join our excellent and dynamic team.

Ward 35 is a busy inpatient surgical ward based at The James Cook University Hospital site, we provide care for planned elective and emergency patients.

Main duties of the job

the successful candidate will work as a active member of the team and responsibility of their own practice. They will be allocated their own caseload of patients each shift and will be expected to work along side other members of the MD, holistically assessing patients needs, planning and prioritising their workload and implementing evidence based practice, evaluating outcomes of care under the minimal supervision of a registered nurse.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
  • Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
  • Completion of End Point Assessment for applicants who have undertaken the apprenticeship route
  • When English is spoken as a second language, must have an IELTS score of 7.0
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
  • Possess the knowledge expected of a Nursing Associate, as recommended within the NMC Standards of proficiency for Nursing Associates
