Job overview

We are looking to appoint to a temporary Cancer Tracking Support Officer within our Cancer Services Department. 

The post will support the Cancer and Access Performance Officer and the Cancer Care Pathway Co-Ordinator’s in the implementation of cancer MDTs, including inputting data, request imaging/pathology from tertiary sites, preparing documentation for MDT, collecting accurate data for audit.

To be successful in this role, the Candidates require a good understanding of the cancer pathways and the national targets.  You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to work under pressure whilst adhering to deadlines and have the ability to negotiate and liaise effectively within a team based environment.

Previous NHS experience would be an advantage

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing support corporate performance management teams by: 

·  Supporting with data input across the corporate performance management teams.

·      Supporting all aspects of data quality ensuring accuracy for Cancer Waiting Time targets. This will include preparation of MDT documentation,

·        Assisting with the monitoring and collection of data for audit

·        General administrative support for the Cancer Services Team

·        Housekeeping of SOPs and version management

·        Monitoring and updating the Cancer Services Trust Action Plan

This is a busy and demanding role so candidates will need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to their role to ensure the needs of the service are met. They will have the flexibility to respond to requests from specialties, and will be able to work under their own initiative. Applicants should also have excellent organisational and communications skills, be able to work under pressure whilst ensuring all deadlines are achieved.
