An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Coding Department for a Band 5 Trainee Clinical Coding Auditor. To be based primarily at James Cook University Hospital. Must be able to travel to both sites when required.
We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic for the above position. The post holder will form part of the clinical coding department audit function. As part of the coding audit team, you must have the ability to lead with a positive attitude in order to motivate others.
Excellent communication skills are a vital part of the job and experience communicating confidently with a range of NHS staff is vital. The post holder must remain calm and patient under pressure, and possess exceptional organisational skills.

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide variety of speciality based/ad hoc and individual coder based audit. Working collaboratively with the other members of the clinical coding data quality team, to plan and deliver a robust and comprehensive audit schedule. Providing feedback to a wide range of staff (eg. Coders, clinicians, ward managers, clinical directors). The post holder will use feedback to help contribute to staff training and development plans, both internally within the department and within the wider trust.
The post holder will use their Extensive, indepth coding knowledge and excellent communication skills to answer complicated coding queries from both internal and external members of staff.
The post holder must commit to extensive professional development to work towards the successful achievement of Accredited Clinical Coding Auditor status from NHS digital.
In conjunction with the senior coders and Team leaders, the post holder will also act as a mentor to more junior coders; checking work when appropriate and supporting them through their training period and beyond. They will form part of the internal clinical coding query process, providing support with advice and queries to the winder coding team.

Leadership and Improvement Training

Experience
