The successful candidate will possess a good knowledge of the radiotherapy process, an aptitude for intricate manual work and an appetite for both personal and service development.

Applicants should possess a degree in clinical technology, physics, therapy radiography or equivalent, and should have (or be eligible for) registration under a relevant professional body. Exceptional candidates at an earlier point in their career may be suitable for appointment at a lower band.

We have an active brachytherapy service, treating a variety of sites using our Nucletron remote after-loading brachytherapy unit. The department has six Elekta linacs (three Versa HD, three Synergy with Agility MLC - all equipped with FFF technology) and one superficial/deep X-ray set. Pre–treatment imaging consists of Siemens and Toshiba wide bore CT scanners with associated ProSoma virtual simulation software. Treatment plans are produced using Raystation and Monaco.

The department prides itself on delivering state-of the-art treatment techniques to our patient population and research and development is actively encouraged.  For example, the use of 3D printing technology is under active investigation and we hope to introduce it into clinical use by the end of the year.
