Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care (28.5 hours per week maternity cover)

Base: Redcar Primary Care Hospital (PCH), Redcar / East Cleveland Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Primary Care Hospitals for a Nurse Practitioner, caring for our Stroke and Older Persons Medicine patients, within a Primary Care Hospital setting rotating between Redcar Primary Care Hospital (Zetland ward 31 bedded) and East Cleveland Hospital (Tocketts ward 30 bedded).

Successful candidates must have Non-medical prescribing qualification.

We are looking for a motivated individual who has clinical skills management experience, leadership experience, motivated to improve patient care and experience and high standards of care values to ensure patient and staff safety, to join the senior nursing team.  

Candidates must have proven experience to lead and develop, in delivering high, safe, effective quality care, every day.

As the Nurse Practitioner you will be instrumental in supporting the team in the delivery of holistic Stroke and OPM care services including stroke rehabilitation, general rehabilitation, palliative care and other general health conditions patients present with and maintain standards of care to our patients aligned to the South Tees Accreditation of Quality Care (STAQC) principles and the NMC code.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to demonstrate clinical expertise and positive forward thinking leadership skills and have the professional competence to effectively manage operational and clinical incidents.

This post is supported by Clinical Matron, Primary Care Hospital ward managers and the wider collaborative senior leadership team, including linked GP’s and community services and the wider multidisciplinary team working.

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3, 5 and 7

  • Nursing Degree/diploma level
  • Specialist training equivalent to masters level
  • Non-medical prescribing

Knowledge & Skills

  • Physical Assessment Skills module at level 3 or above
